"But...This is a wonderful commentary for sure. "But Godliness with contentment is great gain." (The Bible says that in 1Ti6:6.) The indulgence in greed will always lead to death of some kind. St. James said it this way, and it's so great they sound (to me) just alike: "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed; Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death (1:14-15)." It is aptly said that anger burns the angry first - another proof that what we do comes back to us (sometimes very quickly).
